When we started Restaurant Financing Pros NC in 2017, our first deals were almost all within an hour of our Wilmington office. Coastal seafood spots, downtown bistros, a few food trucks running the festival circuit on the Cape Fear River. Local roots, local relationships.

In 2026 we hit a milestone worth marking publicly: active financing activity in every major North Carolina metro. From Asheville to Wilmington, from the Outer Banks to Charlotte, our lender network and our team now cover the full state. Here’s what that expansion looks like in practice and why it matters for NC operators.

## What Statewide Actually Means

It’s easy for a financing brand to claim statewide coverage and mean “we’ll take a call from anywhere.” That’s not what we mean. Statewide for us means:

-   **Active recent deals in every region** — not just a sales territory drawn on a map, but real closings across the Triangle, Charlotte metro, Triad, Crystal Coast, OBX, Asheville, Fayetteville, and the smaller markets in between.
-   **Region-specific underwriting expertise** — we know the seasonal cash-flow patterns of the coast, the brewery-vendor scene in Charlotte and Asheville, the tech-forward POS adoption curve in the Triangle, and the steady inland reinvestment cycle of the Triad.
-   **Local lender relationships per region** — not one bank’s narrow criteria but a portfolio of lenders that fit different deal types in different markets.

## What’s Different About Each Region

The financing needs of NC restaurants vary more by region than most outsiders realize. A few patterns we’ve internalized:

**Charlotte metro** — brewery-vendor and food-truck financing is huge here. The taproom scene runs on rotating food trucks, and we fund the trailers, generators, and equipment that keep that ecosystem competitive. Multi-unit operator financing is also a Charlotte specialty as concepts scale from Plaza Midwood into the suburbs.

**Raleigh-Durham (the Triangle)** — POS and technology financing has accelerated faster here than anywhere else in NC. The RTP-driven foodie audience expects modern kiosk ordering, integrated reservation systems, and tech-stack experiences that most NC kitchens haven’t yet adopted. We fund the upgrades.

**Piedmont Triad** — steady, inland operators reinvesting in existing properties. Build-out and remodel financing is the dominant ask. Less seasonal pressure than the coast, longer reinvestment cycles, more SBA pairings.

**Wilmington and the Crystal Coast / OBX** — extreme seasonality. Working capital structured around the summer revenue spike, equipment installed before Memorial Day, emergency refrigeration ready in peak season.

**Western NC (Asheville and Hickory)** — brewery taprooms, tourist-season pull, and chef-driven concepts that span Boone to Hendersonville. Similar to Charlotte’s brewery-vendor scene but with a different geographic logistics challenge.
